Kualoa is one of the most historically significant destinations on Oahu, and in ancient times was one of the most sacred places on the island. Come experience the aloha and special sense of 'ohana' (family) that all the Kualoa Ranch employees share.

#1 Horseback Rides  

Horseback riding is just one of the unforgettable activities you can enjoy at beautiful Kualoa Ranch. Kualoa's horseback rides combine that special bond with horses with the most spectacular scenery on Oahu. On horseback, riders take different trails beneath the cliffs and overlooking the ocean.

One Hour Ride - See the southern half of Kualoa Ranch. Vistas of the famed "Chinaman's Hat" Mokoli'i island and an ancient 800 year-old Hawaiian fishpond accompany the great feeling of spending time riding horses. 

Two Hour Ride - Adventure to the northern part of Kualoa Ranch, deep into Ka'a'awa Valley. Rides take you through forested areas, past World War II bunkers, into Ka'a'awa Valley, all with fantastic views of the Kualoa Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. 

   Ride through one of Oahu's oldest and largest cattle ranches.

#2 ATV (All-Terrain Vehicles) Rides 

Explore the wondrous beauty of Kaaawa Valley on your own all-terrain vehicle! Expert Kualoa Ranch guides will escort you up the mountainside on trails that pass World War II bunkers and then down into a lush, green valley surrounded by the dramatic Kualoa Mountains. The valley and mountains have been the backdrop for famous Hollywood films like Jurassic Park, Mighty Joe Young, Pearl Harbor, and Windtalkers. 

One Hour Ride - Adventure deep into Ka'a'awa Valley where Jurassic Park and other feature films were made.

Two Hour Ride - Culturally rich and overlooking beautiful Kaneohe Bay, the ATV ride into the south side of the ranch will round out a full experience of Kualoa. And for the more experienced riders, take in both sides of the ranch. After going into Ka`a`a`wa Valley, go to the southern half of the ranch.

Must wear shoes.

NOTE
: ATV's are potentially dangerous and all riders must acknowledge this and sign a liability release.
Riders are cautioned to follow instructions from the tour leader about safe speeds and staying on the trails.


  

#3 Ranch/Movie Set Tour  

If you're in the mood for a little less action, Kualoa Ranch offers narrated tours. The Ranch/Movie Set tour will take you through the fascinating ranch complex,  view an old WWII military defense bunker made into a mini museum, with Hawaiian historical exhibits, drive by the old Sugar Mill established in 1863, and hear stories of the ranch's background with Hawaiian legends and more.

As you travel to Ka'a'awa Valley you'll see aquaculture ponds in the distance and pass by 30 acres of orchids grown for world-wide distribution. You may also see cattle grazing in the fields and you'll stop near the Hawaiian Village while the guide explains the different structures.

You'll continue deep into the valley where JURASSIC PARK, MIGHTY JOE YOUNG, PEARL HARBOR, WINDTALKERS and other feature films and TV shows were made. There are remnants of some of the more recent films and guides will point out filming locations of previous movies and TV shows. There are several stops for photographs so bring your camera.

Kayaking, a Gun Range, and the 'Jungle Expedition Tour'
 

Kayaks are part of a Secret Island and Beach Activities package. Get a light workout as you enjoy kayaking near the shore of Secret Island. Use of the two-person kayaks are included in the Secret Island and Beach Activities package.

  A Gun Range offers an opportunity for target practice. 22 Caliber pistols and rifles are provided, 20 shots each for a total of 40 shots on the 25-yard target range. Safety briefings and equipment provided.  Ages 16 and up. 

Board your 6-wheel drive Swiss Pinzgauer and rumble along jungle trails and up a lush, remote valley for fantastic ocean and mountain views. this back-country adventure tour will maneuver through isolated stream beds, power up hills and tackle rough terrain going to secluded spots that overlook the dramatic windward coastline and an ancient Hawaiian fishpond.
